    1. To make the metal Star of David: Lay a piece of embossable metal on top of a dense rubber pad (not a mouse pad).

    2. Place Star of David stencil on metal. Trace the open areas of the stencil with a stylus or embossing tool (figure A). You can also emboss deeper using a wooden embossing tool or dowel. You will need to press harder than you do when embossing paper.

    3. Cut metal with regular scissors or decorative-edge scissors. Tape with double-sided tape on the back side of the metal and put on paper card.

    4. For the inside vellum piece: Use cover-weight translucent vellum to emboss with brass stencils. Tape the Hanukkah Judaic sayings stencil on top of the paper with removable tape or drafting tape.

    5. Flip paper and stencil face down on light box or use heavy rubber pad. Note: You don’t need a light box for translucent vellum. Trace the words "Happy Hanukkah" (figure B). Remove tape and stencil from the paper.

    6. Repeat the process with the menorah stencil (see again figure B).

    7. Fold both the outside blue paper and vellum paper together. Attach the vellum paper to the outside blue paper with vellum adhesive spray or vellum tape.

    8. For the envelope: Tape small Star of David stencil to envelope flap. Dry emboss if desired.

    9. Using finger dauber, tap into ink and swirl ink into open areas of stencil (figure C). Move stencil to add additional stars if desired.

    10. Cut flap edge with deckle-edge scissors. Use finger dauber with blue ink and brush across cut deckle edge to add small amount of ink for accent.
