Embellishing ordinary bottles will give them pizzazz.

    Materials:

    glass bottles
pliable wire in a variety of gauges
    wire cutters
    needle-nose pliers
    beads
metallic paint crafts or craft paint for glass

    Embellished Bottles

    • Decorate the bottles with paint.

Tip: The tip of a paintbrush makes perfect little polka dots. Just dip the end of the paintbrush in the paint--test in on paper first--and then apply to the bottle (figure A).

    • Decorate the cork of the bottle by using hot glue to glue a jewel to the top of the cork. (figure B).

    • Cut a piece of jewelry and make a loose knot. This gives the bead something to stick to as you are building a piece. Add beads to wire and make a knot after placing each bead (figure C).

    • Use pliers to twist or curl, and snip off the excess with cutters.

Note: You can use any color wire, dried flowers with decoupage glue, sea shells--the ideas are limitless!

    • Add a finishing touch by using a metallic marker (or glass paint) to make swirls. Let dry.

    • You can fill bottles with all kinds of things from bath salts and oils to flavored vinegars for someone who likes to cook. Or, they can be used as vases. Embellished bottles are definitely Home Made Easy.
