Recycling bottles is always a good idea, and here's a great way to recycle any especially pretty bottles that come your way: group them and fill them with flowers or candles.

Optional: Before you begin, you can spray the entire outside of the bottles with frosting spray and let dry.

    1. Soak the bottles in warm soapy water to remove the labels; thoroughly wash and dry.

    2. Freeform-wrap the wire around the base of the bottles (figure A). Form loops to connect the bottles until all are secure (figure B). Wrap the wire up the necks to add decorative touches, using pliers to secure the ends by forming small loops. Keep in mind that this can be really freeform: there's no right or wrong way to wrap the bottles.

    3. Add dimension to the wire-wrapped bottles by adding charms and glass beads, threading them onto pieces of jewelry wire that are 2'-3' long.

    4. "Organically" wrap the beaded wire around the vase (figure C), securing the strand as you wrap. Crisscross the wires and have fun with your design.

    Adding Dangles

Cut a small piece of wire and thread a few beads onto it, using pliers to form a loop at the end of the beads. Attach the dangles to the wrapped wires at various heights and positions until you are happy with your design.

Once the vase is finished, use it for candles or flowers.
