Note: For all connections in this project, lather the pipe and connector threads with pipe compound to prevent leaks. Tighten each fitting by turning the two pieces in opposite directions with pipe wrenches (figure A).- Attach the hose connector to the 3" length of pipe.
- Screw an elbow connector to the opposite end of the 3" pipe (figure B). Screw the 36" pipe to the other opening of the elbow connector.
- Screw the center of a T connector to the top of the 36" pipe.
- Connect a piece of 4" pipe to each arm of the T connector (figure C), then connect a faucet to each 4" pipe.
- To attach the spigot to a fence, simply use two pipe straps to attach it to a fence post. Space the pipe straps far enough apart so that the spigot doesn't lean.
- To mount the spigot in the ground, replace the elbow at the bottom of the spigot with a T connector, then add a 12" piece of pipe to the bottom of the T. Cap this pipe.
- Install a capped piece of 1-1/2" pipe, 12" long, into the ground where the spigot will go, then slip the spigot into the pipe.
- Once the spigot is in place, hook up a hose and water away!
