    Figure D

    Materials:

    Assorted sizes flower buckets
Two colors acrylic paint (light & dark) colors
    Floral wallpaper
    Modge Podge (glue)
    Three 1" foam brushes
    Antiquing medium
    Small scissors
    Sea sponge

    1. Clean flower buckets with soap and water and dry.

    2. Cut out flowers from wallpaper (figure A). When cutting intricate designs out, use a smaller pair of scissors and instead of moving your scissors, move your paper. It is a good idea to cut out a lot of designs and have ready to use. The designs look different when cut out than they do on the whole sheet of wallpaper.

Tip: To save from cutting out the insides of your wallpaper design, you can use the same color of paint as the background color in the wallpaper.

    3. Coat bucket with the darker shade of acrylic paint (figure B) and let dry. You can apply second coat if needed -- it depends on how dark your bucket is.

    4. Using a damp sea sponge, lightly tap the lighter color acrylic paint on bucket (figure C). This will highlight the color. Do it all while it is wet so it will blend together and then let it dry.

    5. Once you have decided on your design, apply Modge Podge to the back of the wallpaper flower and stick it to the bucket. Coat dried flowers with 2-3 layers of Modge Podge (figure D) and allow them to dry. The Modge Podge works as a glue and sealer all in one.

    6. For the finishing touch, brush on a light coat of antiquing medium to the entire bucket and allow to dry.

    7. Fill with flowers or garden tools and enjoy.
