Materials (figure A): Large pine cone Paper plate Plastic knife Peanut butter Birdseed Ribbon Wire - Attach wire around the top of the pine cone, about 3 sections down.
- Use the knife to spread peanut butter inside the sections of the pine cone and around the edges.
- Roll the pine cone in the birdseed on the paper plate and press the birdseed into the peanut butter.
- Tie a bright bow on the stem at the bottom of the pine cone, or at the top around the wire.
- Hang the birdfeeder from a tree.
Tip: In warm climates, the peanut butter will melt and drip. This is a winter activity! Products: Peanut butter and birdseed are available in grocery stores. Pine cones can be picked up in wooded areas, or may be available at floral-supply and craft stores.
