Birding -- mistakenly called birdwatching -- is a hobby that can be enjoyed by anyone, in any part of the country. It's inexpensive, convenient and easy to undertake. Birders Herb and Olga Clarke have engaged in birding for more than 40 years, and Herb has even found acclaim as a bird photographer. What's Your Hobby? host Eric Boardman visits the Clarkes to find out more about this fine-feathered hobby. - The Clarkes developed their property to attract the widest variety of birds possible. A type of natural habitat called a chaparral, the backyard has attracted over a hundred different types of birds.
- Colorful flowers and the sound of dripping water attracts many bird species.
- Flowers with tubular-shaped flowers provide easy nourishment for hummingbirds.
- A simple and inexpensive feeder can be created by applying crunchy peanut butter to a wooden pole.
