Hold a dishtowel up to the backside of the chair to determine how tall you want the pocket to be (about 8") and cut this section of the dishtowel. This becomes the pocket.
Pin the right side of the pocket to the wrong side of the other whole dishtowel with the sewn (finished edge) up and the cut edge of the pocket aligned with the sewn edge of the whole dishtowel.
Place two of the strips of grosgrain ribbon between the two layers, about a 1/2" from the top of the pocket edge, and pin in place. The majority of the ribbon should be between the two layers with just a bit sticking out the sides (figure A).
Sew around the three sides leaving the needle down when reaching the corners and lifting the presser foot to move the fabric a quarter turn.
Fold over the seam allowance on each side at the corners when turning the pocket right side out to get a sharp corner.
Determine where you need the second set of ribbon ties to be on the other end of the dishtowel and sew them into place. Be sure to fold over the raw edge to prevent unraveling.
Put some Fabri-Tac on the bottom edge of the rickrack and adhere it onto the underside of the top edge of the pocket with Fabri-Tac.
Sew two sets of buttons, a small one over a larger one (figure B), through both the pocket and the backing dishtowel to create three individual spaces for items.
Sew a matching pillow slipcover seat cushion by folding another dishtowel (figure C) in half and sewing up the two sides and sew on ribbon ties the same way.
