Floral Giant SpiderProject designed by Jon Fong. Materials: 2 Protea approximately 40 red mums 8 pussy willows 6" plastic plate 1 brick of floral foam florist tape floral shears - Carve floral foam into an oval (figure A).
- Place the foam on top of a plastic plate, and attach it with floral tape.
- Cover the floral foam with red mums.
Note: The angled method was used to attach these flowers (figure B). - Use two Protea (a tropical flower) as the eyes (figure C).
Tip: If protea isn't available for the eyes, any type of flower or vegetation that can pass as eyes will work daisies, pincushions, even mushrooms. - Cut eight pieces of pussy willow so that they are about 2-1/2' long. Then bend the pussy willows in half so that they crack a little to make the spider's legs.
Tip: If you can't find pussy willow, try horsetail or long, thin branches. - Insert the legs into the body.
