Pop art from the '60s inspired this colorful floral centerpiece. Host Jennifer Perkins shows you how much fun it is to arrange.

Note that an acrylic box frame is a perfect way to keep floral foam in place, and the look is fantastic as well.

    Materials:

4 different colors of spray roses, approximately 20 each
4 Gerber daisies of different colors
    1 acrylic box frame, 8-1/2 x 11" (found at a craft store)
1 brick of floral roam, plus a little extra
1 deep bowl (to hold water)
    water
    floral tape
    tabletop display easel (optional)
    floral shears
    steak knife

    1. Start with an 8-1/2" x 11" acrylic box frame.

    2. Carve floral foam with a stake knife to fit into the acrylic frame.

    3. Soak the foam in water.

    4. Using floral tape, disect the frame horizontally and vertically to form four quadrants.

    5. In each quadrant, line up the spray roses, leaving a space in the middle (figure A). Choose four different colors. Put the roses straight into the foam.

Note: Don't force the floral foam into the water, which can produce air bubbles and pockets of dry foam. Let it absorb naturally.

Tip: There are two ways to stick flowers into the floral foam, the Straight-in Method, and the Angled Method.

The Straight-in Method is when you insert the stems perpendicular to the floral foam. This gives you a straight, flat plane of densely packed flowers that form what's known as a "pave" arrangement. The pop inspired arrangement uses this method.

The Angled Method allows you to create a rounded shape, even when the floral foam is flat. Here, the stems are placed at gradual angles so a dome shape is formed

    6. In the middle of each quadrant, place a Gerber daisy of a contrasting color (figure B).

Tip: Water the arrangement every other day. If you're preparing the flowers for an event, the arrangement will stay fresher if you store it in the fridge.

    7. Place the entire frame on a tabletop easel.
