The embellishments on this "architectural" mirror are really pieces that can be found at almost any hardware, art-supply or home store.

DIY Crafts host Debbie Stapley dresses up an old mirror with architectural pieces to look like an antique treasure.

    Materials:

    Mirror with plain frame
    Architectural pieces
    Paint in color of choice
    Brushes
    Hot glue

    1. Begin by painting the frame of the mirror with a medium-color paint that coordinates with surrounding decor.

    2. Paint the architectural pieces in a slightly lighter color to provide depth.

    3. Glue pieces to mirror frame.

    4. Add touches of lighter color (or white) to provide highlights.

    5. Hang mirror or display on easel.
