David Lee and Brian Gregory left the world of advertising to search for "hidden treasures" -- in a junkyard! p> "We dumpster dive and hit some piles to find certain colors and interesting pieces," says Lee. "I could spend hours here ... it is so fun!" Once they've found something worth hauling away, the two recycled the pieces into art. Some of their recent work includes a candleholder fashioned from old washers; a panoramic picture frame created from a reclaimed floor register; and whimsical metal face magnets created from miscellaneous pieces. According to Gregory, "... you need a reserve of stuff -- an entire junkyard in your home -- to sometimes get just two useable pieces." And the two of them have amassed quite a collection. Their findings -- rusted and new, faded and shiny, line the walls and cover the tables of their work area. All waiting to be used in a whimsical -- or urban -- modern design. And the two have turned a hobby into a passion -- and livelihoods. "We didn't leave our jobs to start making things from metal, "Gregory says, "we left our jobs to be creative."
