    Materials:

    small straw hat
    garden glove
assorted sizes and colors of pompons
    10 goggle eyes
    pipe cleaners
    eyelash yarn
    scissors
    double fold bias tape
    hot glue

    1. Cut a hole slightly smaller than a wrist in the top of the hat (figure A). Hot-glue double-fold bias tape around the cut edge of the fabric to seal the edges (figure B).

    2. Turn the hat upside down. If it has a large brim, fold or roll down the brim and secure with a drop of hot glue.

    3. Push the glove through the opening of the hat and secure to the edge of the hole with hot glue (figure C).

    4. Design facial features that are whimsical and imaginative. Glue small pompons to the face and add two goggle eyes. Use felt scraps or pipe cleaners to create funny ears and antennae (figure D).

    5. Glue a pompon to each fingertip of the glove; this will become the face of the critter.

    6. Once the glove has taken on a personality, push it through the opening on the hat and stuff with the shredded paper.
