Candi Cane makes a unique gift for bridesmaids with pieced shoe uppers. She makes a template for the shoe upper, then pieces three fabrics together to fit this template. The fabric is then glued onto the shoe upper and tacked down to the wooden platform.
Materials: shoes various fabrics iron-on fusible interfacing squeezable tacky glue crystal beads needle and thread small metal tacks

1. Trace around the shoe upper to make a pattern (figure A).2. Divide the pattern and decided which fabric should go where (figure B). For a more elaborate design, sketch out stitching placement, etc. 3. Cut out the fabric, leaving a 1/4" seam allowance, and sew each piece (figure C). Once the whole piece is completed, iron on fusible interfacing for added strength.
4. Fit (figure D) and glue (figure E) the fabric piece to the upper and let dry.5. Glued the overlapping front and back edges to the under side of the upper; trim around the edges. 6. Finish each shoe by nailing tacks into sides of fabric piece at shoe base (figure F).
