A long time love of rock music and fashion inspired Mark Stowe to learn the art of leatherworking. He shows how he cuts, shapes and punches leather wrist cuffs.
Mark Stowe's Leather Wrist Cuffs- Mark Stowe is a leather artist. He starts creating a cuff by cutting a strap from a piece of hide using a strap cutter (figure A).

- He created a template for sizing the leather cuffs. The cuffs are cut out and then an edge beveller is used (figure B) to create an angle. He then uses a hole punch to create the holes for the snaps.
- A saddle groover is used to etch different designs onto the leather. To apply the rivets, a rivet setter poly mallet and anvil are used. A poly mallet is used in leatherwork so that the tools aren't damaged, and they don't bounce like a rubber mallet would.
- Mark can take a strap of leather and create many unique designs (figure C).
