    Materials:

    2 wool sweaters
elastic (depending on tightness of sweater weave)

    Sweater Scarf and Tube Top

    1. Cut the sleeves off two sweaters. Sometimes if you cut with the sweater, you might have an angle (figure A), but you need to make straight cuts.

    2. Take the cut out sleeves from both sweaters and dice them into unequal lengths (figure B)--just have fun with it.

    3. Pin two right sides together and then sew right along the edge. Add the next piece and stitch it and continue this process, alternating colors and lining up widths, until all the pieces are sewn together (figure C).

    4. Turn right side out, and you have a lovely new scarf!

    5. For the tube top, cut bodice from both sweaters removing the shoulders, necklines, and arms (figure D).

    6. Trim the bodice inside out.

    7. Cut out the side seams.

    8. Serge along the side seams making it smaller than your measurement since it will stretch, and then serge or zigzag the hemline.

Tip: For a sassy look, add a knitted brooch. Also, this is a great idea in case there is a hole in the sweater!

    9. For a contrasting look, you can take the collar off of another sweater and sew it to the top of a tube top (figure E).

Note: If you are concerned about the top falling down, you can always add straps by using ribbon. You could also add elastic along the top edge of the back of the top.
