    Host Dean Fishbein turns a plain sweater into a fun and fancy sweater.
    Materials --

    Classic button up woman's sweater (pink and black)
    1" trim -- black and white polka dots
    Medium-sized vintage rhinestone
    Vintage rhinestone buttons in different styles
    Small fabric scissors
    Sewing needle
    Black thread
    Iron
    Pin back
    Pinking shears
    Gem-Tac

    1. Remove buttons from sweater.

    2. Sew on vintage rhinestone buttons to replace the original buttons and continue up one side of the neckline. To secure buttons, sew up and down through the fabric and button shank several times. Then sew up through fabric and shank and wrap the thread around the button beneath the shank several times (figure A). Run the needle through the shank and down through the fabric. Tie a knot and cut the thread.

      Tip: Each of the buttons you sew up the sideline should be different for an interesting and unique look.

    3. Make a bow out of black and white polka dot trim. Snip the ends in a "V" shape with pinking shears.

    4. Glue pin backing fastener to the back of the bow. For added security, you can stitch it on.

    5. Glue rhinestone attachment to center of the bow (figure B). Pin bow on sweater.

      Tip: Be sure and remove the bow before you wash the sweater.

    6. Sew a rhinestone button on each cuff for that little extra detail.
