    1. If your dog's coat has reflector strips cut the rickrack the width of the strips with a little extra on both ends to sew under. Pin small rickrack in the middle of the strip and then sew it onto the coat (figure A).

Tip: Use a straight, tight stitch on your sewing machine.

    2. Trace the scoop of the coat collar on the reverse side of the fun fur with tailor's chalk. Make sure the right side of the coat is touching the backside of the fun fur. Do not trace the part of the collar that will be covered by the Velcro closure. Using the ends of the collar as a width guide, draw the bottom scoop onto the fun fur, completing the collar shape.

    3. Glue fur collar onto the coat with fabric glue. Do not cover the Velcro closure. It is best to put the fabric glue on the collar and not the coat. Press the collar down good to make sure the glue is connecting with the fabric (figure B).

Tip: If you have the type sewing machine that will take thick fabrics, you can sew the collar onto the coat.

    4. Cut a bowtie shape from vinyl. Use the reverse or suede side and glue a colored rhinestone finding on top with jewelry glue.

    5. Sew the bowtie onto the collar of the coat (figure C).

Tip: Use a Glovers Needle when sewing on vinyl.
