    Host Dena Fishbein takes a plain pair of shoes and dresses them up.
    Materials --

    Off white fabric shoes
    1/4" decorative trim
    Variety of millinery flowers in velvet -- small and medium-sized
    Fine-gauge wire
    1/4" wide velvet or chenille trim -- look for one that's pretty on both sides
    FabriTac
    Binder clips
    Glue gun and glue sticks

    1. Starting at the back seam of the shoe, run a bead of FabriTac along the top edge of the shoe a little at a time.

    2. Glue the decorative trim down and secure with a binder clip (figure A) until it dries.

    3. Form a garland about 5" long by taking flowers and wrapping with wire to make a band of flowers.

      Tip: Look for a vintage feel in the flowers you select for this project.

    4. Wrap the velvet or chenille trim around the garland of flowers to hide the wire and stems. You can even make a small bow (like the bow for tying your shoes), glue a rhinestone in the center and then glue the bow to the garland of flowers (figure B).

      Note: You can make several bows instead of just one and glue them together and then glue the rhinestone in the middle.

    5. Use hot glue to attach the garland to the top of the shoe (figure C).

    6. To hide the seam on the back of the shoe, glue a small velvet ribbon (figure D) to give the shoes a nice finished touch.
