    1. Choose an image for your T-shirt. You can use images from books, cards or photographs. Trim the image down to about 1/8th of an inch around the outside edge.

    2. Use heat transfer paper (figure A) to photocopy the image onto. The paper usually comes in packs of 10; and you can copy a few on one sheet if you use a small image. The transfer paper can be used in your copy machine or you can take it to a copy center and have them copy the image.

    3. Trim the image down to about 1/8th of an inch around the outside edge (figure B), leaving a border you can create any way you like.

    4. Place the T-shirt onto the ironing board with a thin cloth under the T-shirt.

    5. Place the transfer face down where desired and hold the iron onto the image as long as the directions specify.

    6. Peel backing paper off when directions say to do so.

    7. Sew bows and rhinestones onto the image (figure C).

Note: You can find rhinestones at your local arts and crafts store and even at Flea Markets.

    8. For other ideas, you can just iron an image on and simply add a bow to an image of a bouquet of flowers or add coordinating colored buttons to the center of the flowers (figure D). For images of pets, you can add rhinestones to their eyes to add sparkle and maybe sew a bow on their collar. The ideas are limitless -- just have fun designing your one-of-a kind T-shirt.
