Romantic candleholders are easy to create from just a few simple materials.

Nancy Golden, host of DIY's Decorating and Design, shows how to make simple yet romantic candleholders.

    Materials:

Wood blocks (generally used around doors; available in craft stores)
Finial (available in salvage stores) or end of a drapery rod
Candle cup (available for different sizes of candles)
    Glue gun and glue
    Spray primer
    Base color
    Gold acrylic paint
    Brush
    Rag
    Rope caulk

    1. Stack wood blocks to make the base; glue.

    2. Place a finial on top of the blocks and glue in place. (If your finial isn't flat on top, saw it off; it will have to hold a candle cup.)

    3. Top with a candle cup, glued in place.

    4. Apply a coat of spray primer and let dry.

    5. Apply a base coat and let dry.

    6. Brush gold acrylic paint over the surface and wipe off with a rag. Let dry.

    7. Tear off a small piece of rope caulk and place it inside the candle cup to hold the candle steady.
