DIY Crafts host, Mary Lyon uses polymer clay to add another dimension to a matchbox chest.

    Materials:

    3 matchboxes
1 full package of polymer clay
    Gold foil
    Pasta machine

    1. Tape matchboxes together.

    2. Roll layer of polymer clay through pasta machine.

    3. Using a thinner setting on pasta machine, run polymer clay through again to press on a thin coat of gold foil (Figure A).

    4. Place matchboxes on clay, foil side down (Figure B).

    5. Wrap clay around matchboxes (Figure C).

    6. Trim to fit and brush edges together.

    7. Put entire chest in oven and bake for 25 minutes at 265 degrees.

    8. Allow to cool and decorate as desired.
