    Materials:

    pillowcase
    rubber bands
    fabric dye
    Magic Stamp block
    embossing gun
object to press into the stamp to make an impression
    acrylic paint
    textile medium
    foam paintbrush
    iron

    1. Prewash the pillowcase to remove any sizing.

    2. Wet the pillowcase to ensure that the dye will distribute evenly (figure A).

    3. Wrap the pillowcase with rubber bands, bunching and gathering into a ball to create a mottled or marbled look (figure B) (figure C). Gathering the pillowcase at the center, forming fabric into a cone; putting rubber bands at even intervals will create a bull's-eye-shaped pattern. Pinching in the middle, twisting into a cinnamon-bun shape and rubber-banding will create a striped pattern.
