    Figure C

Author Mary Jo Hiney adds texture and style to an ordinary terra-cotta vase.

    Materials:

Small terra-cotta vase (about 3" tall) with saucer
Seed beads (6 different shades; 5 at size 11/0; 1 at size 14/0)
    Beedz (TM) shade of choice
    Bead mixing containers
    Bead trays
    Tacky glue
    Glue brush
    Decoupage medium
    Foam brush

    1. Mix a variety of seed beads in a small container. Include seed beads that have different cuts and colors, both inside and out, as well as one seed bead shade that is size 14/0.

    2. Brush the bottom portion of terra-cotta pot with thick layer of tacky glue in an uneven pattern (figure A)

    3. Pour mixed beads over some of the tacky glue on one side only (figure B). Press beads into glue and then pour beads onto glue on opposite side. Allow excess beads to fall away.

    4. Immediately pour the Beedz onto the entire glued area (figure C). Press into glue and allow excess to fall away.

    5. Finally, apply one coat of decoupage medium with a foam brush over the entire beaded surface to seal. Allow vase to dry thoroughly.
