This handmade thatched-roof cottage is reminiscent of the English countryside -- but it's part of Pat Curtis's garden-railroad landscape!
|
Pat Curtis brings her garden railroad landscape to life with miniatures that match the countryside of her homeland, Great Britain. For a castle, Curtis uses a simple mixture of rapid-set and water: - Combine 1 cup rapid-set and 1/4 cup water.
- Pour the mixture into a mold and allow to set for about 20 minutes.
- After the mixture has set, break the mold away and use waterproof glue to join the pieces.
- Finally, paint the piece.
For stained-glass windows, Curtis coats a thin sheet of transparency film or plastic with multiple colors of glass paint.
