The only thing Nowell can't create are the shoes!
|
Vince Nowell's lifelong passion for Barbie began after he received a brunette doll that looked like his mother. During his childhood, the dolls were clothed in only a swimsuit, and the lack of fashionable attire piqued his interest in designing original Barbie couture. Nowell, who loves the challenge of working in small detail, is particularly intrigued by the clothing styles of the early 1960s. Whenever inspiration strikes, he sketches out a new design before creating a pattern, cutting the fabric and sewing the piece. He uses a basic sewing machine with only straight and zigzag stitches to sew the garments. His goal is to run a doll museum one day and ultimately to design and market his own fashion doll.
