Dean Mancina's extensive collection of Disney memorabilia and souvenirs includes more than just character figurines. This 1956 opening-day theme-park ticket was autographed by animator Walt Disney.

Dean Mancina is choosy about the Disney souvenirs he adds to his collection. Mancina's memorabilia must specifically say "Disneyland" -- and he favors pieces from the early years of the park (1955 and 1956). Many of his pieces are now worth hundreds to thousands of dollars. The best way for a collector to find premium pieces is to visit garage sales, antique malls and collector swap meets. Mancina says it is helpful to think of items that people won't typically save (e.g., a Disney bag) and then look for those. Mancina says, however, the most important thing is to collect passionately, not for the potential economic gain.
