The first piece in Riehn's collection was this Wizard of Oz music box -- which she received on her 23rd birthday.

Sally Riehn has over 150 music boxes -- many of which has been given to her by friends and family. Riehn says many people mistakenly think music boxes are the decorative housings that surround the actual music box; however, the music box is actually the mechanical piece inside the housing. Riehn also collects antique powder boxes. Found on many dressing tables in the past, powder boxes held loose powder, but held a musical mechanism in the bottom portion. Riehn says she loves showing her collection to visitors and has filled several curios with displays -- some of her displays are organized by holiday, some by type (i.e., clowns), but all have sentimental value to Riehn.
