  • Pig on a Platter
  • From "DIY Halloween"
    episode DHA-104

People will "laugh their heads off" when they see you in this funny costume.

    Materials:

Checkered tablecloth or fabric about 45" square
    Foam core
    Blue spray paint
    Craft paint
    Pig's snout
    Small apple

    1. Cut a round piece of foam core 32" in diameter (this is the normal width of a piece of foam core). Cut out a circle in the center that is 7" in diameter, and cut a straight line from the center circle to an outside edge.

    2. Cut the fabric in a straight line from the center of one side to the center of fabric.

    3. Cut a second circle or oval of foam core about 24" in diameter for the platter. Again, cut out a 7" circle in the center, with a straight cut to one edge.

    4. Paint the top of the platter with spray paint and let it dry.

    5. Decorate the "platter" with a rim and flowers or any decoration you like.

    6. Carefully place the table on the shoulders of the wearer. The slit on one side allows it to cover the head. Drape the tablecloth over the "table" and use a safety pin to pin it together in the back. Place the "platter" on top of the tablecloth and attach the pig's snout over the nose. Add an apple in his mouth and he is done.

Products: Materials can be purchased at fabric and craft supply stores.
