    Decorated Garden Tools

Jane Hardenbergh of Jazz-Ups® (a poly-resin product molded into vegetable shapes, flowers and button covers) adds three-dimensional decorations to garden tools.

    Materials:

1 1/2 yards of fabric ribbon
    Garden trowel
    Pipe cleaners
    Jazz-Ups small poly-resin garden vegetables
    Hot glue and gun
    Metal or wood glue
    Scissors
    Pen or pencil

    1. Make a bow with the ribbon by looping it alternately to the right and left, twisting it in the middle, if necessary, to keep the right side up. Twist a pipe cleaner in the center to hold the loops (figure A).

    2. Glue the bow to the handle of the trowel. If the handle is wooden, use wood glue. If the tool has a metal handle, use metal glue (figure B).

    3. Coil half a pipe cleaner by twisting it around a pencil (figure C). Pull the pencil out, and hot-glue a small Jazz-Ups poly-resin garden vegetable to one end (figure D). Hot glue the other end of the pipe cleaner coil between the loops of the bow. Add as many as you like to the bow.
