Workshop vacuums, dust-collection systems and air filters are used to remove dust particles from a workshop, but they don't always get the job done. To rid the workshop floor of hazardous sawdust, you needc Materials:
Two 2' x 2' pieces of 1/4" plywood 2' x 10" piece of 3/4" plywood Two right triangles of 3/4" plywood, with 2' base and 10" height Power screwdriver and drywall screws Table saw or circular saw Plunge router 1/2" double-fluted router bit Jigsaw - Using a table saw or circular saw, cut a 45-degree bevel from the width of the plywood on one of the long sides.
- Using dry-wall screws and a screwdriver, secure the two triangles to two opposite sides of one square piece of plywood. Secure the plywood rectangle between the heights of the triangles (figure A). The beveled edge of the rectangle must face up.
- Using a plunge router and double-fluted router bit, drill about six 1" slots into the second square piece of plywood (figure B). The slots should be about 1" apart (figure C).
- Screw the slotted piece of plywood to the top of the triangles.
- Use a jigsaw to drill a hole in the back of the rectangular piece of plywood. The hole must be just large enough to accommodate a vacuum hose.
