Becky Graham's entire family is involved in Soap Box Derby racing. Becky's father, Brian Graham, says the most satisfying aspect of the hobby is being able to both work with and spend time with his children. In derby cars, there is no engine; instead, racing is a combination of controlling the car while working with gravity. The cars some in three sizes: stock (for younger children); superstock (a midrange size); and the masters series. Although the cars and regulations have changed over the years, participants are still required to build their own cars; but, says Becky Graham, the most important thing to remember is to have fun -- and forget about opponents.
