    PHOTO
It’s helpful to choose a scrapbook with a window opening which provides the perfect place to decorate with holiday-themed embellishments. If the window is recessed, the embellishment can be raised with foam adhesive and still remain protected. Select an album whose binding will allow you to add pages (like a ring or post bound album). Add extra pages to the album in order to create a title page, table of contents and divider pages that act as the introduction to each section. Each divider page includes a pocket that holds a card that is ready for the album’s new owner to write about the photos they will add to each section. Each card features ribbon swatches that stick out of the top of the album and do double duty as fluffy decoration and also as tabs that make it easy to locate each section in the book.

    Materials:

    Kolo album
    Canson and Bazzill paper
    Paper Source patterned paper
    Mrs. Grossman’s stickers
E.K. Success punches - heart, star, leaf, circle and square
Mrs. Grossman’s, Paper Source and Paper Zone ribbon
    3M foam adhesive
    glue dots
Making Memories clear frame and rub on words
    Sizzix star and mitten die-cuts
    Paper Adventures dotted vellum
Note: Materials available at local craft/scrapbook stores.

    Steps:

    1. Decorate the cover’s window with patterned paper and an embossed circle sticker that is embellished with leaf and circle punches.

    2. Use an existing page from the book to act as a guide for page size and hole placement in order to create the title, table of contents and divider pages.

    3. The title page is embellished with a clear frame that is fastened to the page with glue dots. Inside the frame is a square sticker raised with foam and embellished with star punches. The red background paper is dotted with large circle punches and a word sticker.

    4. The table of contents is labeled with rub-on letters, ribbon trim and square punches.

    5. The divider pages are all created with a 3-3/4" x 4-1/2" pocket that is attached with foam adhesive to make it easy to insert and retrieve the card. Each pocket is decorated in a holiday theme. Most of the embellishments are created with simple geometric shapes like squares, rectangles and circles as well as a few punches like hearts and stars.

    6. The cards that are placed in each pocket are blank (waiting to be filled out by the gift’s recipient) except for ribbon strips that are looped through holes punched in the card top.

While the theme of this album is the Christmas holiday, it is easy to change the theme to create a special and uniquely personal gift for a birthday, wedding, bridal shower or other special occasion.
