    PHOTO
Scrapbooking host Sandi Genovese uses paper, scissors, glue and her expertise to craft a holiday-themed serving tray for Creative Juice co-host Cathie Filian. Sandi takes photos of Cathie and arranges them on paper with rub-on words, stickers and paper-crafted wreaths to design a special centerpiece for any holiday party.

    Steps:

    1. Cut a sheet of paper or card stock to fit inside the bottom of a selected tray.

    2. Layer bands of contrasting colored paper strips to the left side of the tray’s liner.

    3. Fasten photos and paper panels to the paper base. Position the items so that they form a large rectangle with narrow spaces in between each panel. The photos are balanced with paper panels that are decorated with stickers, rub-on words and punches that match the theme of the tray.

    4. The wreath is created by layering leaves (figure A) made from a leaf punch over a ring cut from matching green paper and finished with a bow sticker that is customized with a red pen.

    5. Use coordinating patterned paper or make your own decorative paper with circle punches to create the look of polka-dotted paper.

    6. Add a title vertically along one side and horizontally along the top with rub-on words.

    7. The decorated liner is placed into the tray with a sheet of Plexiglas laid over the top (figure B). The Plexiglas protects the paper liner and provides a sturdy surface for plates and glasses.

Because neither the paper liner, nor the Plexiglas is fastened to the tray, it is simple to turn it upside down in order to remove the holiday liner and replace it with a new liner themed for other seasons, holidays and special events, making this a tray for all occasions that will really serve up a good time.
