The bottom sides, front, and back of the house are then sewn together on the machine to create the dimensions of this holiday house. Keith and Chris then use poly stuffing to fill their house so that it stands on its own. The candy roof is finally sewn on and this lasting gingerbread house is complete!

    1. Make sure you have a front panel, a back panel, two side panels, two roof panels and one square red piece of felt for the bottom of the house.

    2. To assemble the panels: Tip: Lay out all of your pieces as if it were a paper dollhouse.

      1. Sew one of the wall panels to the roof with a 1⁄4-inch seam (figure A). Sew them back-to-back. Note: This is where your stitch will pick up the final row of the heart roof shingles.
      2. Line up edges and offset about 1/2-inch from the edge and sew slowly right over the hearts.
      3. Trim the edge with pinking shears for a nice finish, but first curl the shingle edges back with tape so that you do not cut your hearts.
      4. Attach the side to the back.
      5. Repeat this process to attach the opposite roof panel and side panel (figure B).
      6. Leave the back end open a couple of inches and stuff the house with polyester fill, wool or fabric scraps.
      7. Close the opening with a hand stitch.

Your holiday felt gingerbread house is complete!
