Materials:
3 feet of flexible 3/8" aluminum tubing lamp cord wire strippers rosin-core solder soldering iron 80-ohm 1/2-watt resistor 1 x 15 5V power adapter 3.7 clamps 3 wired alligator clips pliers

Slip the cord through the center of the aluminum tubing until you can pull about four inches of the wire out of the opposite end.
Separate the two wires constituting the cord and twist the ends tightly.
Crimp an alligator clip to the top of each wire with pliers (figure A).
From the back of the circuit board, slip the positive wire through the hole which connects to the resistor; slip the neutral wire through the other bottom hole.
Solder the wires in place, and the snip off the ends of the wires.
Twist the aluminum tubing into a desired shape, making sure you have a large enough base to maintain balance!
Plug your LED desk lamp in and enjoy!
