    Magic Wishing Potion

    Materials/Ingredients:

    Tall pilsner-type glass
    Bowl
    1 Tbs. baking soda
    Food coloring
    White vinegar

    Preparation:

Place the glass into another bowl (to handle the spillage). Put the baking soda and a few drops of food coloring in the glass and add the vinegar. This concoction will bubble over like a magic wishing potion.

    Quicksand

    Materials/Ingredients:

    Mixing bowl
    1 cup cornstarch
    1 cup water
    Food coloring

    Preparation:

Combine the cornstarch and water in a bowl and stir. Add in food coloring to give the quicksand color.

    Gooey Putty

    Materials/Ingredients:

    Mixing bowl
    Another container (your choice)
    1/4 cup liquid starch
    1/4 cup white glue
    Food coloring

    Preparation:

Mix ingredients in a bowl and pour into a separate container. Let stand for at least 20 minutes, but it works best the longer you let it coagulate. Ring out excess liquid, dry hands and repeat ringing until the liquid is completely gone.

    Invisible Messages

    Materials/Ingredients:

Light colored paper (construction or office)
    Same color crayon as paper
    Watercolor paints
    Paintbrush or sponge brush
    Water

    Preparation:

Draw a design or message on the paper with same colored crayon. Brush different colored watercolor paint over the paper to reveal the message or drawing(s).
