Michael and the DIY kids didn't have time to show you how to make this colorful mobile on-air.

Materials: Craft foam Wire -- 22 gauge A pencil Hole punch Heavy-duty thread Markers Scissors White glue A compass Wire cutters Needle nose pliers Optional: teacup hook - Measure and cut 2 pieces of wire 12 inches long. Curl each end of the wires into small circles. Tie the two wires together to form an "X".
- Measure and cut 4 pieces of wire three inches long. Curl each end of the wire into small circles.
- Using craft foam, cut eight circles that are three inches and 16 one and one-half inch circles. Cut one slit in each circle from the outer edge to the middle and fit two circles together for a 3-D effect.
- Punch a hole in the top and bottom of the large circles. Tie one to each end of the 12-inch wire.
- Bend the 3-inch wire pieces in half for a "V". Insert the wire in the hole in the bottom of the large circle.
- Punch a hole in the smaller circles and tie one to each end of the smaller wires.
Tips: - Have an adult supervise when you use scissors, wire, wire cutters, pliers, and a compass because all of these things are sharp and can cut you -- be careful!
- Everything on our mobile is perfectly balanced because we chose to use the same size shapes for each tier. For fun, try making a mobile with different shapes.
- We chose to use 22-gauge wire because it is very bendable but sturdy enough for our mobile. It is available in the floral department of most craft stores.
- If you choose to hang your mobile from a teacup hook -- ask an adult before you screw it into the ceiling!
Products: All products are available at craft, art, and all-purpose stores nationwide.
