Materials: 1 file storage box 1 shoebox 4 metal cans Craft foam Hot glue Scissors Pencil Acrylic paint Brushes Rope - Hot glue the shoebox to the lid of the storage box. Let it hang over about halfway (figure A). This is the cow's head. Hot glue the four cans to the bottom of the box for the feet (figure B).
- Paint the boxes like a cow. We painted ours with a light brown and then came back and added dark brown spots. We also painted the inside of the shoebox pink.
- Trace the head of the horse onto a piece of foam to measure 12" x 12" x 11" x 17-1/2" (figure C) and then cut it out. These measurements will vary depending on the size of your shoebox at home. We used a light brown foam to match.
- Starting with a back corner, hot glue one angled edge on the long side of the shoebox lid. Repeat with the opposite side so that the craft foam forms a "U" over the box lid. Fold the front corners in (figure D) and hot glue on the front of the lid. Now, fold the front flap down and hot glue on the front of the lid. Trim any extra foam.
- Run a bead of glue on the craft foam at the back of the head (figure E) -- it looks like a "U" shape -- and hot glue onto a full sheet of craft foam. Then cut off the excess foam so the back of the head is rounded to fit the shape of the face.
- Cut ears and small horns out of craft foam and hot glue them on the top of the head (figure F).
- Paint the face of your cow.
- Cut a piece of rope and hot glue on the back of the big box for a tail (figure G).
Tip: Have an adult supervise when you use hot glue or scissors and remember to always be safe! Products: All products are available at craft, office supply, grocery and all purpose stores.

Guest Mershon West talked to the kids about improvisational acting. She explained that in improv you create your own piece, you ad-lib. You have to accept what is going on.
