Make this vest to match your chaps.

    Materials:

1 old towel -- ask first!
    Scissors
    Paint
    A paintbrush
    Hot glue
    Velcro
    A yardstick
    Craft sticks

    1. Fold towel in half with short ends together. Measure and cut a square approximately 19" by 19" or smaller if you are smaller.

    2. Cut a semicircle on the fold. This will be your neck hole.

    3. Cut a semicircle at each side edge up to the fold for the armholes.

    4. Open the towel and make a straight cut from the center of the bottom to the neck hole.

    5. Try it on. Cut the bottom edge off to fit you if it is too long.

    6. Cut the two front edges at an angle below the neckline.

    7. Hot-glue the sides together. Note: If the towel is not big enough around, just hot-glue a strip of scrap towel to each side.

    8. Hot-glue all the edges, turning under approximately 1/2". Use a craft stick to push the fabric down.

    9. Paint on cow spots or other design if desired.
    Tips:

    • Always have an adult supervise when you use hot glue and scissors!

    • Ask an adult what towels are okay to use before you start digging through the linen closet.

    • Make your vest really great by adding a bandanna, a sheriff's badge and a cowboy hat!
Products: All products are available at craft and all purpose stores nationwide. No special products needed.
