Primer seals the wood so that the chalkboard paint will stick better. Put on two coats and then sand for best results.
- Once primer is dry, spray wood sheet with chalkboard spray paint according to manufacturers directions (figure B). Let dry and repeat with second coat. Spray one coat horizontally (side-to-side) and the other coat vertically (up and down).
Tips: - Choose a wood sheet that is as smooth as you can find. Try luan or another veneered wood such as birch.
- Always spray aerosol cans outside in a well-ventilated area. Use spray paint for intended purposes only, and always have an adult supervise.
- Read all of the manufacturers directions and precautions before using product.
All products can be purchased at craft, hardware and all-purpose stores nationwide.
