Materials: Old T-shirt or other scrap fabric Hot glue Craft foam Ruler Marker T-shirt yarn Scissors Compass Pencil Water bottle (16 oz.) - Measure and cut a craft-foam circle slightly larger than your bottle.
- Cut a circular piece of fabric slightly larger than the craft foam (figure A).
- Glue the fabric onto the circle of craft foam, folding extra material on the edges over (figure B).
- Cut a piece of fabric about 9 inches by 10 inches, depending on the size of your bottle.
- Place a bead of glue on the fabric side of the circle and glue the fabric square edge to it -- work in sections going all the way around (figure C).
- Glue the seam together and then glue it to either the right or the left so it lies flat.
- Turn the holder right-side out.
- Cut two slits in the top of the pouch, opposite each other (figure D). This is where you put the braid through.
- Braid about 6 feet of T-shirt yarn (figure E).
- Run braid through the slit to create a "sling" for the bottle. Fold braid over and dab some hot glue to secure it (figure F).
- Insert water bottle into a holder. If it's too loose, put a rubber band around to secure it.
Tip: When using hot glue or sharp tools, always have adult supervision. All products can be purchased at any craft or all-purpose stores nationwide. No special products are needed.
