    Materials:

A wooden triangle or other shape
    Pipe cutter
    Drill and small bit
    Pencil or marker
    Scrap board (to drill on)
    Paint and brushes
    Scissors
    Brass tubing, 3' x 3/8" wide
    Metal file
    Fishing line or string
    Ruler
    Hammer and nail
    Glitter
    Vise

    1. From a 3' section of tubing, cut four pieces in different lengths. (Optional : If you don't have a pipe cutter, you could use a hacksaw.)

    2. Place the tubing in a vise or have someone hold it for you (figure A). Tap a small dent in the tube with a hammer and nail about 1/2" from the end. This will be where you drill.

    3. Begin drilling a hole all the way through the pipe (figure B). Let the bit do the work and apply gradual pressure. Do this on each of your pieces.

    4. Next, run the file over the tubes edges to knock any burrs off -- they can be sharp!

    5. Drill four holes in wood triangle along the bottom edge, then add a fifth hole at the top point to hang chime from (figure C).
    6. Decorate wooden triangle with paint and glitter as desired.

    7. String chimes on wooden triangle through the holes you drilled (figure D)with fishing line or string.

    Tips:

    • Safety tip: Be careful whenever you are using any tools like the drill. Always have an adult supervise.

    • If you cannot find brass tubing, you can substitute aluminum or copper instead.

Products are available at any craft or hardware store nationwide.
