Water toys and water sports are very popular for boaters today. Host John Greviskis gives some tips for first time players.

    • There are several fun water toys on the market today, but one of the most popular is a cover tube that holds three people. The tube is attached to the boat with a "T" ring (figure A) and rope.

Note: States have different laws concerning the use of cover tubes on the water. Be sure to become familiar with your state's restrictions before using one.

    • Make sure that when you are pulling someone on a water toy or a skier, that you have another person with you on the boat to act as an observer. Another tip is to have a mirror (figure B) installed on your console so that you can see what is going on behind you. State law requires that you have either an observer or a mirror.

    • A very important tool to have if you own an inflatable water toy is a professional pump. Water toys are typically large and putting air into them with a manual pump can be time consuming.
