    Topics covered on today's episode:

Building a workshop on a budget

Making compound miter cuts on crown molding to build a mantel

Framing doors with no miter cuts

Putting sliding drawers in lower kitchen cabinets

Removing paper stuck to floor underneath the linoleum

All about adhesives -- what jobs different types do best

Types of fasteners used to connect shelves to cinderblock walls

    Restaining a teak bench

Floor damage from a Christmas tree stand

Sprucing up a table without eliminating its artistic look

    Building a large doghouse

Removing caulk from the side of a tub or toilet

    Tips:

    • An old bowling-ball bag makes a great portable home for your circular saw.

    • Setting a few protruding drywall screws into a scrap board will make an instant hammer rack for your shop.

    • A hacksaw blade will help you spread glue quickly and evenly over a large flat surface. The blade's teeth will help the glue get a good bite.

    • Why take chances? Glue together two scrap pieces of the material you're working with at the same time you glue your work piece together. You'll be able to test the bond of the scrap pieces without compromising your work.
