    • White paint won't yellow if you stir a drop of black paint into the can.

    • When taking a short break from painting, wrap your brushes in plastic wrap and keep them in a refrigerator. They'll stay fresh for at least a day.

    • Need an extra hand? Try using a rubber band, wrapped around the handle of your hammer, to help keep track of those extra nails.

    • The word joist is derived from the word adjacent, which comes from the Latin word jacere, to lie.

    • Old kitchen sponges can save your hands in the workshop. They help with everything from filing to carrying paint cans.
