  • HANG WITH THE BRIGHTEST THIS HOLIDAY SEASON

  • DIY Network is Craft Crazy with Holiday Craft-Nanza!

Knoxville, Tenn. – October 2006 – DIY Network is pulling out all the stops to help viewers celebrate the holiday season in style with its Holiday Craft-Nanza! Every day between Thanksgiving and Christmas, DIY is offering up tons of festive craft and gift ideas from everyone’s favorite DIY craft shows! From Friday, Nov. 24 to Monday, Dec. 25, DIY is getting into the spirit every weekday (12-1 p.m. ET), and every Saturday and Sunday (4-6 p.m. ET). And on both Friday, Nov. 24 and Monday, Dec. 25, DIY’s entire daytime crafting block celebrates the holidays, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. ET. Do-it-yourselfers won’t want to miss hanging with DIY, the brightest network in town!

"Who doesn't like to show off and impress their friends with their creativity, particularly during the holidays?" said Freddy James, DIY’s VP of programming. "We asked our experts to come up with their most creative, most unique ideas so viewers could dazzle their holiday visitors all season long."

Holiday Craft-Nanza kicks off on Friday, Nov. 24 with DIY Network’s best craft programming. New episodes of B. Original, Craft Lab, Jewelry Making and Uncommon Threads join DIY’s popular holiday line-up of Scrapbooking, Knitty Gritty, Carol Duvall and Creative Juice every day, including Christmas!

    B. Original host Michele Beschen shapes PVC pipe into modern holiday wreaths in a fun, whimsical episode on holiday trimmings entitled, "Whimsy Christmas Décor" on Friday, Nov. 24 at 12 p.m. (noon) ET, followed by "Gift Giving" at 12:30 p.m. ET. In this second episode, Beschen gets creative with the presentation of holiday gifts, as she demonstrates how wax paper and window screens can be turned into decorative wrapping paper and gift bags.

Craft Lab host Jennifer Perkins also brings five new, festive episodes to DIY’s Holiday Craft-Nanza. On Friday, Nov. 24 at 1:30 p.m. ET, guest Wanda Wen joins Perkins for a unique twist on holiday wrapping in "Artful Gift Wrap" and on Saturday, Nov. 25 at 4:30 p.m. ET, learn how to fashion a photo cube Christmas tree, a quilted Hanukkah card, and a cool cone for the mantle with guest Traci Bautista during an episode on "Holiday Paper Projects." Looking for a timeless tree and a non-traditional ornament? Tune-in to episodes "Beaded Tree" on Saturday, Dec. 9 at 4:30 p.m. ET and "Polymer Clay Ornament" on Saturday, Dec 23 at 4:30 p.m. ET. And of course, Perkins knows how to celebrate Hanukkah, too. A special visit with Judiakitsch authors/sisters Jennifer and Victoria Traig on Sunday, Dec. 10 at 4 p.m. ET, introduces a playful mahjong-tile Menorah, a steppin’ out yarmulke and humorous Patron Jew candles.

Needlework enthusiasts can also "Have a Funky Christmas" with Uncommon Threads on Friday, Nov. 24 at 10:30 a.m. ET. Members of Phresh, a Los Angeles-based group, join host Allison Whitlock, to share their favorite Christmas projects – a faux fur tree skirt, appliquéd felt stocking, a snowflake table runner and a Yule log placemat. Holiday crafting isn’t just for the home! Jackie Guerra of Jewelry Making creates jewelry that is perfect for a crisp "Winter Wonderland" on Saturday, Dec. 23 at 5 p.m. ET.

The one-hour holiday specials that viewers have come to love return with the premiere of DIY Holiday Wish List on Sunday, Nov. 26 at 7 p.m. and DIY Holiday Open House on Sunday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. DIY Holiday Wish List gets into the spirit with an insider’s look at tackling gift-giving this holiday season, as DIY’s experts share more than 50 ideas and inside tips on the hottest tools and accessories for do-it-yourselfers and enthusiasts. Holiday Open House also brings DIY experts from all genres together to decorate a home and share their tips for making any home festive for the holidays. Celebrate in style by putting personal touches on everything from stockings, wreaths, Menorahs and more.

And for the third consecutive year, three enthusiastic and competitive neighbors go head-to-head during the holiday season to outdo one another in DIY's Deck the Yard five-part special. These homeowners in Charlotte, N.C., put their do-it-yourself skills to the test, transforming their front yards into holiday showplaces. Tune-in Monday, Nov. 27, through Friday, Dec. 1 at 6:30 p.m. to see one lucky family rewarded for taking their holiday decorating to a new creative level on Deck the Yard: Charlotte.
