What: An open casting call to find DIY Network's next handyman or woman. Amy Matthews, host of DIY’s Bathroom Renovations and 10 Things You Must Know, will be on-site to help judge.The Denver winner will get a trip to New York as one of the finalists to participate in a "live" final round on a national morning show in October 2006. The winner of the final round will land a starring role as host of a DIY Network home improvement series in early 2007.
All those participating in the Denver casting call will be part of a "Stud Finder" special airing in January 2007 and receive prizes?many will walk away with name-brand power tools!
Who: Do-it-yourselfers with a "can-do spirit" and the skill-set necessary to build a home...and a national television following! Entrants should be charismatic, knowledgeable DIYers who can share their passion with our viewers. The "Stud Finder" search is hosted by DIY’s Amy Matthews. Only the first 100 people to arrive are eligible to compete!
Contestants (who must be 21 years of age or older) should be prepared to bring a photo of a project they recently completed that successfully demonstrates to the judges their handyman or woman skills. Also, they should be prepared to describe their vision for their dream show on DIY Network.
When: Saturday Sept 23, 2006 at 8:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Participants must be present at 2:00pm to obtain prizes and to learn who's been chosen as the Denver finalist.
