Janette Smith

The daughter of an Air Force officer, host Janette Smith lived all over the world as a child but is happiest here at home in the U.S. Since graduating from Alabama A&M University, she has enjoyed a varied and successful career in television news: as host of Good Day Atlanta, co-host of the Emmy-winning Good Morning Texas and reporter and news anchor for a number of major network affiliates. Janette enjoys lending her time to children's issues and causes. She serves as spokesperson for Big Brothers Big Sisters in Cincinnati and Huntsville and is also an active member of several organizations, including the NAACP, the National Association of Black Journalists and Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.
