Sarah Hodgson has been teaching and writing in the dog training world for more than 70 dog years (that's over a decade to me and you). Sarah's philosophy of dog training focuses on establishing an understanding between the dog and its person by using "Doglish" when communicating. "Yelling is perceived as barking," she says. "Never yell."Hodgson holds memberships in many noteworthy societies and organizations, including the Society of North American Dog Trainers and the American Veterinarian Society. She is truly a Jack-of-all-trades, featuring in her bag of tricks a column for the New York Times and consulting for Dogs in Need, a pet hotline of sorts. Sarah also shares her expertise on her interactive Website, dogperfect.com. Sarah is president of Simply Sarah Inc. and founder of The FaithHope Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to healing abused children through the use of animals. Her seventh book, Dog Not So Perfect, is scheduled for publication in the winter of 1999.
